Join Our TeamSector Development Project Officer

Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs Council of Tasmania

0.8 FTE | Hobart based | SCHADS Level 5 (salary packaging available)

The Tasmanian alcohol, tobacco and other drugs sector is world-class, helping people from all walks of life manage a range of personal health challenges. Whether it be seeking assistance with drinking, smoking, or illicit drugs, there are hundreds of Tasmanians working hard across our state, using their expertise and giving their all to make a difference in the lives of others.

We’re looking for someone to join us in supporting our sector in this rewarding and important work. At the Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs Council, we’re on the hunt for a new Sector Development Project Officer to help deliver activities that will build the capacity and capability of our sector.

What does this mean?

It means taking charge of the development and delivery of engagement activities, including short-term projects and the ATDC’s calendar of events and forums.

This role is diverse -you might be coordinating a training event one moment, and then conducting some research for a discussion paper next. Your morning might involve leading a project working group, drafting an event report in the afternoon, and then finishing the day with some admin tasks.

Needless to say, this is a diverse, busy and engaging role where you’ll work alongside and be supported by the dedicated and assured ATDC team.

About you

This position requires someone passionate about delivering amazing client outcomes. You’ll thrive if you:

  • are detail oriented and able to manage complexity without becoming overwhelmed.
  • are adaptable and enthusiastic.
  • have strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively.
  • communicate professionally both with stakeholders and through the written word.
  • operate with a level of autonomy.

Experience in planning and delivering small projects and events is central to this role. Prior experience in delivering projects, programs or events in a community setting would be highly regarded.
