Co-designed Tasmanian Lived and Living Experience Acknowledgements
Over the past few months, ATDC have undertaken a co-design process to develop a Tasmanian Lived and Living Experience Acknowledgement that reflects the voices of those with lived and living experience in our state. Through a series of co-design workshops, ATDC Lived Experience Advocates came together to explore what a meaningful acknowledgement looks like—one that recognises the value, wisdom, and meaningful contributions of people with lived and living experience of alcohol and other drugs.
This process highlighted the power of lived and living experience voices shaping their own narrative. The acknowledgements we have created are the direct result of these discussions, ensuring they are authentic, respectful, and impactful for our communities.
We are pleased to share the two acknowledgements developed through this process:
🔹 A longer ATDC Tasmanian Living and Lived Experience Acknowledgement – designed for broader use in reports, communications, and sector-wide discussions, and
🔹 A shorter meeting/event acknowledgement – intended for use at meetings, events, and gatherings to recognise and honour lived and living experience.
We encourage Tasmanian organisations and individuals to use these acknowledgements. By embedding these statements into everyday practice, we can continue to elevate lived and living experience voices and drive meaningful change in our sector.
If you have any questions or would like support in integrating these acknowledgements into your work, please reach out to Claire at claire@atdc.org.au
