Youth, Family & Community Connections

YFCC envisions a community where individuals and families have the opportunity to achieve their goals and to seek positive change. Underpinned by a range of models, YFCC treatments are client centred, solution-focused, holistic (looking at all the social determinants of health), and designed to improve health and social outcomes within a harm minimisation framework.

Services offered include:

  • Counselling and Case Management Services addressing the needs of community members whose lives are affected by alcohol and other drugs use. Services include early intervention, outreach services, specialist intervention, group work, support and information to families/carers and friends. All services are free and confidential, and are available right across North West Tasmania, including the West Coast and King Island.
  • Prevention and Education Services including a range of evidence-based programs and workshops delivered in schools, colleges and community settings. These programs cover a range of drug and alcohol domains and related issues such as vaping, mental health and relationships. YFCC workshops are based on harm minimisation principles and aim to support participants in making informed choices.
  • Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) providing information, clean injecting equipment and disposal services at 62 Stewart Street, Devonport.
