As part of our core commitment to supporting sector skills and professional development, we also deliver the “Frontline in Focus” skills session, which is designed to be a short, sharp skills-focused training session with the objective that “each participant will leave the session with three things they can apply in their practice immediately”.

Guest Speaker : Professor Edward Ogden

Professor Edward Ogden PSM is the Principal Researcher – Clinical Trials, Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences, Swinburne University. A staff specialist in addiction medicine at Austin Hospital in Melbourne and the Addiction Medicine Specialist at Goulburn Valley Health in rural Victoria.

Prof. Ogden holds fellowships in prestigious institutions such as the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the Chapter of Addiction Medicine of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, and the Faculty of Clinical Forensic Medicine of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australia.

In recognition of his contributions to forensic medicine, he was honored with the Public Service Medal on Australia Day 2005. Furthermore, his exceptional dedication to road safety earned him the Widmark Medal from the international Council on Alcohol Drugs and Traffic Safety.

His research endeavors concentrate on the intersection of alcohol, drugs, and road safety, alongside advancements in alcohol and drug abuse treatments. Collaborating with academic and clinical partners, he is actively involved in establishing a center for ADHD research, with a specific focus on ADHD and Substance Use Disorder.
