Greetings Champions,
Today we have submitted the ATDC Budget Priority Statement 2024/25 to the Department of Treasury and Finance. This is an annual process where we consult with members in a variety of ways to develop a submission that articulates our shared sector-wide priorities. Some organisations develop their own submission as well and we understand there are a number of these being submitted to Treasury this year. It will come as zero surprise that most of these are around addressing funding shortfalls. There is also the issue of funding duration, with the sector mostly on three year agreements currently.
Earlier this year, the Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing, the Honorable Jeremy Rockliff, pledged support for the instigation of five year funding agreements for community managed organisations. We understand that a lot of our funding agreements are set for renewal by June 2025 and we intend to support the Government to make this move.
It would make such a difference.
I’d like to share my delight and announce that we have 175 responses to our Workforce Survey 😊 It closes on Monday December 4 so there’s still an opportunity for your workforce to complete it. Perhaps you’d like to share the link again and help us get to 200 responses. This will be the first time, with the help of Assoc. Prof. Raimondo Bruno that we will be able to analyse ALL OF THE DATA from ALL OF THE ATDC WORKFORCE SURVEYS EVER. We have been doing these surveys since 2010, so this is the sixth iteration of it. This helps us know “the collective you” and we will share the report so you can use the information as well.
Our sector is committed and powerful and connected. Similar to the ATDC team.
I’d like to close by sharing my delight that Dan Vautin has accepted the new role of Director Policy & Impact 2IC at the ATDC. He just completed his first policy submission and you will see it below.
